- To access and edit your website's or district's drop-down menus, navigate to Websites in the left-hand menu and select View Departments on the following screen.
- On the following screen click on Shared Content, there you should see a file named Main Navigation. Click on the pencil icon to the right of Main Navigation to start editing it.
If you find that there is not shared content named Main Navigation, use the instructions below to locate where you can update your drop down navigation then continue to step three.
- Click on Site Management, followed by Design & Layouts in the left-hand navigation. You will see a list of Designs, and underneath each Design is Outer Layouts, Inner Layouts, and Delete Theme. Before continuing, please remember that any edits to the Outer or Inner Layouts will affect the entire site, and we recommend being cautious about making any edits to them.
- Click on Outer Layouts under the appropriate Design. This will bring you to a page that shows all of the Outer Templates for that Design. Click on the Pencil icon to the right of the Template that you would like to edit. Please note that you may be taken to a Select Theme Preview screen where multiple options may be shown. Out of the options offered, select the Default theme.
- This is where people get confused because you are not automatically in edit mode (you will not see your theme yet). To do so, click on Edit Mode, located in the left-hand navigation.
- You will now be in the Outer Template. This is what you will see at first glance. Notice the Lock area. This is where the Inner Template and content are pulled into. You can't edit these areas from here, as we are in the Outer Template.
- To edit the Navigation bar itself, position the cursor over the container that contains the Mega Menu widget, and a green bar will appear. Click on Edit to edit the widget. Please see the Mega Menu article for more information on how to update the widget.
- To edit the drop-down menus, position the cursor over the menu item of the container that contains the Mega Menu widget, and a green bar will appear. Click on the Edit, and you will be taken to either a Text widget, which you can edit, or a Shared Content widget, where you can locate the file you will need to edit.
- Finally, after making the necessary changes click Publish.
If you find that you are unable to edit the drop-down menus of the navigation editor and it does not look similar to what usually appears on your site, try one of the following;
- If possible make your browser window wider.
- Change the zoom level of your browser. You can find out how to do this in the following article - Changing the Zoom Level of your Browser
Since the area to work on is not the full width of the webpage, sometimes the Mega Menu widget will default to mobile view while viewed in the page editor if the area to display it is not wide enough.
